Full Job Description

Interim Deputy Manager - Fixed term 3 months, As a deputy manager you will be supporting our Home Manager to continue to improve the lives of the individuals we support. You will play a vital role in both the home and wider organisation, acting as a positive role model to both staff and our supported individuals. A day in the life of a Interim Deputy Manager with Orbis Education and Care Involves:

  • Supporting the Home Manager to achieve compliance, with the regulatory framework, organisational objectives and a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Deputising in the manager's absence and be a creative and innovative leader that supports the home to be a specialist excellent service.

  • Participating in the Companies "Out of hours" service.

  • Supporting the staff team with the transition of residents in and out of the home.

  • Helping to co-ordinate the homes recruitment process and lead interviews for new staff.

  • Acting as a mentor to new staff and co-ordinate their induction into the home.

  • Supporting the supervision of all staff and report on compliance.

    A QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent and working towards your Level 4

  • At least 2 years working within a care home/ childrens home

  • At least 1 years experience within a team leader/senior role

  • A good understanding of the Positive behaviour support framework and the active support model as this underpins the way in which Orbis Educations & Care supports all the individual's living in the home.

  • Experience of direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour.

  • Experience of leading a team of staff who support people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour.

  • Ability to work independently, meet targets and supervising staff.

  • Awareness of new developments / standards / best practice in the sector.
