Full Job Description

  • The Team Leader must be prepared to work to tight targets and deadlines to provide a full service to our customers. This will involve weekend work which is rostered.

  • Leading of an Experienced team is essential, with the ability to manage effectively.

  • Instruct, supervise, and give information to the team.

  • The workload will be on a variety of Railway Traction.

    This is role for an 18-month Fixed Term contract to become the day team leader; this is one of the most impacting positions at SPM depot and comes with many responsibilities.

    SPM depot is the Home Depot of the West Fleet, servicing several different fleets of traction, SPM is in the centre of the GWR network.

    Since 2018 we have seen the introduction of the turbo fleet from Reading Depot.

    SPM depot complete BXs on over 40 trains on a mileage based exam programme, the main role of the successful candidate will be to ensure the weekly BX rate is met.
