Cryptography Operations Analyst (Oversight)

In our cybersecurity team you'll be helping to safeguard the financial system on which millions of people depend.

You'll be making banking more secure by designing, implementing, and operating controls to manage cybersecurity risk. You'll help define HSBC Group cyber security standards, deliver Global Security Operations ad Threat management services, provide round-the-clock monitoring and security incident response services, and oversee Network/Application/Infrastructure Security. The work you do will provid3e assurance of the adequacy and effectiveness of security controls to Business Risk Owners.

The HSBC Cryptography team looks after the encryption technology and key material which protects, validates and assures critical functions and billions of pounds worth of transactions across the organization.
Dynamic and varying demands on the cryptography team mean an interface to IT and the broader business is necessary. This role is the delivery part of the function. Managing the hardware, software and services from inception to deployment to redundancy to ensure the best outcomes possible for the business and its use of encryption technology.,

  • Managing the cryptographic hardware and related software used in cryptography and its configuration, crypto-load and installation into data centres and/or external hosting environment.

  • Develop applicable knowledge objects, procedures and secondary standards to support agreed upon SLA or project deliverables.

  • Maintain and enhance the delivery of cryptographic technology, process and relevant controls.

  • Implementing the cryptographic solutions required to a standard in line with the business' risk appetite.

  • Report progress and identify and raise any issues/risks, escalating as appropriate to enable satisfactory resolution.

    Background understanding in cryptography technologies applicable to financial service companies, cloud security, data security, internet and cyber security.

  • Prior experiences in IT development, IT Services Management, Change Management, Risk and attestations

  • Technical knowledge in one or more of the followings: encryption devices (HSM, software Crypto and Standards), data at rest encryption, data in motion encryption, Unix/Linus platform and scripting, basic programming experience in Java or Python, Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), network, database, mainframe, midrange.

  • Working knowledge in collaboration technologies such as Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, MS Team, Sharepoint

  • Prefer Technical certification: PCI QSA, CISA/CISM, CISSP, ITIL or relevant college education.
