Full Job Description

As our Commercial Solicitor you will support to the Head of Legal and to provide legal advice to the local management for Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK Limited (t/a Daimler Truck) and Daimler Buses UK Ltd. This includes:

·
Providing a level of comprehensive legal support

·
Draft and approval of standard and non-standard legal documents (e.g. contracts, transaction, legal letters)

·
Administrative management and coordination of Board meetings and corporate affairs filings

·
Supporting on the management and follow up of litigation and other disputes

·
Observing trends in local legislation

·
Advising on data protection matters.

More about the role

Support and coordinate the entity-specific implementation of Data Protection requirements, including:

Establishing and refreshing employee awareness of data protection topics

-
Providing training and preparing local working policies and guidelines. Supporting departments in the initial set-up and update of record of processing activities

Support Data Protection Impact Assessments

-
Dealing with complaints and subject access requests

-
Local coordination of Incident Management

-
Consulting and supporting the departments on information obligations, deletion concepts, privacy by design/default and other DP topics (such as Data Analytics use cases); support by local Legal Counsel when required

Monitoring of data protection measures and new data protection laws and regulations and identification of local implementation needs.

Compliance risk assessments, performance monitoring and reporting,

·
Implementing and maintaining an effective Compliance program at local level in accordance with corporate Compliance Program requirements and local laws and regulations,

·
Compliance and Integrity awareness at local level,

·
Implementation and maintenance of clear standards of business and ethical conduct consistent with Daimler Truck corporate standards.

·
Implementation of risk based control procedures based on Daimler Truck Compliance standard

·
Ongoing, effective communications and training on compliance requirements for both internal stakeholders as well as external business partners

·
The focus will be on the key areas such as Anti Corruption, Sanctions compliance, Anti Money Laundering, Data Compliance and Integrity

·
Ensure a comprehensive legal support to the Head of Legal and the wider stakeholders for all commercial legal matters involving the company

·
Drafting standard and non-standard legal documents (e.g. contracts, letters)

·
Supporting on the management and coordination of board and corporate law matters

·
Supporting litigation matters

·
Supporting on ongoing product liability, IP and competition law matters

·
Coordination of legal support through contact with external lawyers where required

·
Observing trends in local legislation and implementation of required actions in the company

Undertaking legal research and providing ad hoc legal advice., Supporting on local compliance topics on an ad hoc basic., Health Benefits

    Law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law.

    ·
    LPC/SQE.

    ·
    In house sector experience (preferable)

    ·
    0-2 years PQE (UK Qualified Solicitor)

    ·
    ILEX/Experienced paralegal dependent on the candidate's applicable work experience.

    ·
    Commercial contracts experience, advising, reviewing, negotiating terms and conditions.

    ·
    Experience within Data Protection field.

    ·
    To work efficiently as part of a team as well as individually.
