Colorectal Surgery Registrar

This Role is an ongoing fulltime placement opportunity within the fast paced care of the Gastroenterology department. This role would be predominantly based in Harlow, Essex area with the opportunity to work extra shifts across the Trusts' other sites and any of our partner Trusts.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with colorectal disorders, including benign and malignant conditions of the colon, rectum, and anus.


• Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for patients with colorectal diseases, in both outpatient and inpatient settings.


• Participate in the management of acute colorectal conditions, including colorectal emergencies such as bowel obstruction, perforation, diverticulitis, and perianal sepsis.


• Assist consultant colorectal surgeons in performing a wide range of surgical procedures, including colonoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies, laparoscopic and open colorectal resections, stoma formation and closure, and anal procedures (e.g., hemorrhoidectomy, fistulotomy).


• Develop proficiency in surgical techniques, perioperative care, and intraoperative decision-making under the guidance and supervision of experienced colorectal surgeons.
