Full Job Description

Working as a member of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team, the post holder would need to provide efficient and effective clerical support for clinical services, supporting the delivery of a high quality service to patients accessing the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service.
The post holder work independently, within standard operating practices to deliver a comprehensive administrative/support function., Communicate with patients/carers in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
To communicate effectively with staff on a daily basis, providing support where required and working to help resolve any issues.
Communicates with the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team in relation to allocated work and sharing of messages verbally face to face, via email and telephone.
Ensure queries from patients, GP's etc. are dealt with efficiently ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Ensure that all relevant paperwork/patient notes are available for all elective admissions. This will involve record retrieval from health records, other Departments within the hospital and requests to various sites for notes located off site.
Support the Pre-assessment process for all patients attending for operations, ensuring that appointments are booked efficiently and clinic lists and hospital notes made available for Pre-assessment staff. Ensure accurate recording of relevant details from outcomes of the Pre-assessment onto patient administration systems.
Retrieve patient notes from various locations around the hospital including closed library.
Ensure any appointments required for medication or injections are made.
Compile and distribute weekly Ward Notices.
Ensure that planned admissions are accurately recorded in Ward diaries and updated.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
