Full Job Description

This senior midwifery leadership role is an integral part of the regional nursing and midwifery management and leadership team at NHS England, working with the regional Chief Nurse, the regional Executive Team, the Director of Intensive Support and the local health economy (including Clinical Commissioning Groups, Strategic Transformation Partnerships/Integrated Care Systems, Specialised Commissioning, Quality Surveillance groups, the Care Quality Commission and regional NICE leads).

Experience of working at a senior strategic level as a midwife at system, regional or national level

Experience of leading and delivering complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment

Contemporary leadership and knowledge of clinical maternity services that has delivered clear and measurable improvements for service users and the teams that support them

Demonstrable leadership, vision, strategic thinking and planning with highly developed political skills together with ability to influence senior leaders.

Demonstrates honesty and integrity and promotes organisational values together with self-awareness in terms of emotional intelligence, biases and personal triggers with cultural sensitivity and awareness
