Full Job Description

Strickland MFG are seeking an Office-Based Buyer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing, this role will involve managing procurement processes, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials to meet customer demand.,

  • Create purchase orders for stock and customer demand. Key part of this role is analytical.

  • Monitor stock levels to meet demand and expedite open orders, primarily with overseas suppliers.

  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with suppliers to address quality issues promptly.

  • Update, control, analyse, and maintain Excel spreadsheets, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring timely order processing.

  • Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently to meet customer demands, tracking order progress against supplier schedules.

  • Check and file commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipment paperwork, demonstrating knowledge of global shipping processes.

  • Undertake administrative tasks and requests promptly, ensuring successful completion within deadlines.

  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with experience in ERP systems like SAGE preferred.

  • Commercially aware with the confidence to liaise with suppliers (UK and Overseas) and internal departments.

  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, ideally with experience in welded fabrications.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide solutions when necessary.

  • CIPS qualification or working towards it would be advantageous but not essential.

    Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 to 17:00 (30-minute lunch break)

  • Friday: 08:00 to 14:30 (30-minute lunch break)
