Full Job Description

Sense has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Business Development team as an Business Development Officer. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. This role is hybrid and you will be working flexibly between home and our Touchbase Pears office in Selly Oak, Birmingham.

As a Business Development Officer you will be part of a small team who are responsible for supporting the retention and growth of current and future service provision by actively identifying tender opportunities, and writing and/or supporting tender submissions/bids and framework applications.

The team work closely with colleagues from; Operational Services, Finance Business Partners, People Business Partners and Quality and Practice Teams.

Duties Include:

  • To identify tender opportunities via Local Authority portals, tender publications and frameworks and be part of the central decision-making process regarding submissions for opportunities.

  • Maintain and update a database of existing business and contracts, including contact details for all relevant local authorities and other commissioners.

  • Maintenance of the internal database systems and overseeing of new service contracts and follow up as required.

  • To keep up to date with developments in the field, particularly in relation to any legislative or regulatory changes.

    Competent level of IT literacy including Word, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of social care services.

  • Competent time management skills to meet strict external deadlines.

  • Competent skills in influencing, negotiating and building sustainable working relationships both internal and external to Sense.
