Full Job Description

This is an exciting role reporting directly to the CEO and leading on sales within their Northern Division, which exists to engineer and install new fire and security systems into large, complex buildings across the North of England and Midlands.

The role has responsibility for:

· Delivering the project sales target of £1m per annum.

· Developing and building a pipeline of opportunities for installing state of the art fire and security systems.

· Opening doors with potential new clients and building relationships.

· Designing and building your own jobs of between £50,000 - £1m.

· Applying knowledge and understanding of the features, functions and benefits of the company's services to offer the best solution to the customer.

The main activities for this role are:

· Working closely with specialist team members, such as estimators, engineers and project managers, to co-ordinate a smooth buying process for potential clients.

· Contacting prospects, both in person and online using LinkedIn.

· Making site visits.

· Conducting surveys and estimates.

· Writing and presenting proposals.

· Making presentations.

· Gaining buy-in from senior decision makers.

Are you an experienced sales professional with fire and/or security experience, looking for a fresh new challenge?, You are driven, ambitious and goal orientated, with a strong sense of urgency to get things done quickly.

You proactively use your initiative to solve problems, taking a logical, organised approach and owning the role function.

You have strong negotiation skills and enjoy overcoming objections and resistance, achieving goals in the face of obstacles.

You focus on building long-term relationships and care passionately about what you do, with a desire to do it to the best of your ability. Your ethos is "do it right, or don't do it at all".

To be successful in this role, here's what you will be able to evidence having accomplished before:

· Strong consultancy sales skills.

· An understanding of NACOSS Standards.

· Experience of fire/security system design.

· Excellent verbal and written communication.

· Ability to understand and translate customer needs into benefits and produce compelling propositions and quotations.

· Excellent people skills.

· FIA (or recognised certified) training course on Fire Detection and Alarm systems.

· Full driving licence.

· Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade A-C.

Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have knowledge and/or skills in the following areas:

· Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, EVCS, PAVA, Suppression Systems.

· Access Control, CCTV, Intruder, Security.

· Understanding of relevant British Standards.

· Consultative and value selling.

· Finance - estimating, costing and budgeting with use of commercial tools.

You will likely have held roles as a business development manager, sales engineer or fire and security consultant.,

  • Have you got at least 3 years direct selling experience?

  • Have you got at least 5 years experience in fire and security?

  • Have you completed an FIA training course in the last 5 years?

  • Are you located in the North of England or the Midlands?
