Full Job Description

We are recruiting Business Administration apprentices across Greater Manchester. Apprentices perform a vital role within Greater Manchester Police, providing excellent customer service and administrative support to members of the public, internal colleagues and partners. Successful applicants will work alongside police officers and staff in a range of specialist policing support teams.

You will be working from day one but will also be receiving training to complete a Level 3 qualification. Wherever you are based you will be required to work to high standards and under pressure, whilst treating people with respect and compassion. As you would expect, the highest standard of honesty and integrity is a requirement for this role. The apprenticeship will involve significant use of IT and excellent communication skills - face to face, telephone and in writing.

You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to work with others, both customers and internal colleagues as part of a team. You will also need to describe, in your application, why you feel you are suited to working for Greater Manchester Police as an apprentice.

To be eligible to apply, you are required to hold a GCSE English or Maths qualification at Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent.

If you are currently undertaking GCSE (or equivalent) in English and/or Maths, you will be required to provide predicted grades. Should you not achieve the required standard your application will be withdrawn.

An attractive and competitive salary is provided: £14,832 per annum, rising to £17,565 per annum (subject to satisfactory attendance, performance, and qualification progress). After 12 months service, you will progress to the National Living Wage Foundation rate, currently £22,683 per annum. Working hours will be 36.25 per week, Monday to Friday.
