Full Job Description

To work towards becoming a qualified practitioner within the kindergarten team, supporting the planning and delivery of activities with individual or groups of children to bring about effective learning. To be part of a kindergarten team that provides a purposeful, stimulating environment rich in learning opportunities, both indoors and outdoors.,

  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS

  • Effective practice

  • Relationships with children

  • Communicating and working in partnership with families and carers

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Own professional development through the apprenticeship programme and kindergarten training

  • To develop an understanding of the principles and content of the Early Years Foundation Stage and know how to put them in to practice

  • To practice and promote current legal requirements, national policies and guidance on health and safety, safeguarding and the well-being of children

  • Deliver high quality provision within the setting

  • Have high expectations of all children and have commitment to them achieving their potential

  • Provide a safe, welcoming, purposeful, stimulating and encouraging environment where children feel confident and secure and are able to develop and learn

  • To develop fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with children, communicating sensitively and effectively with them

  • To work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues.

  • To adhere to the policies and practices of the setting and share in collective responsibility for their implementation

  • To commit to the Woodspeen development programme, completing work required within the appropriate timescale

    Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard

  • To develop and use your skills in literacy, numeracy and information and communication technology to support your work with children and for wider professional activities

  • Blended on/off the job training and location to be confirmed, Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Administrative skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C/4 or above) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade C/4 or above) Essential, Early years practitioner
