Responsibilities: Troubleshoot Application and Systems Problems: · Diagnose and resolve application and system issues promptly to minimize downtime and
ensure seamless operations. Proactive Monitoring and Management: · Proactively monitor the production environment, identifying potential issues before they escalate. · Implement measures to enhance system performance and reliability. Client Relationship Management: · Act as the point of escalation for business users, managing end-user client relationships effectively. · Provide timely and clear communication to stakeholders regarding incident resolution progress. Incident Management: · Take ownership of incident management, ensuring timely resolution and conducting thorough problem follow-up. · Maintain detailed incident records for analysis and improvement purposes. Knowledge Base Maintenance: · Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of known defects, issues, processes, and techniques. · Continuously update the knowledge base to enhance support efficiency. Software Releases and Testing: · Review and perform production software releases, conducting post-release testing
after application upgrades. · Ensure smooth deployment processes and minimize risks associated with new releases. Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing: · Actively participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure the availability of critical systems. · Contribute to the development and enhancement of disaster recovery procedures. Shift Rotation and On-Call Support: · Adhere to the defined hours of operation (0700-1800) with a willingness to participate in shift rotations. · Be available for occasional weekend, bank holiday, and after-hours work to support critical business initiatives. Key Skills:
Technical Expertise: · Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems. · Working knowledge of FIX Protocol. · Experience with RV, MQ messaging, Windows Clustering, and Autosys. · Familiarity with Ansible, Git, and Splunk dashboarding. Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills: · Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues. Self-Motivation and Positive Attitude: · Self-motivated with a positive attitude towards problem-solving and continuous improvement. Equities Trading Experience: · Proven experience in supporting Equities trading applications. · Familiarity with High Touch trading, Portfolio Trading, or Electronic Trading businesses. Scripting and Automation: · Experience writing scripts in Perl, Python, Bash, or other shells for automation and addressing critical business needs. Database Knowledge: · Experience with MS SQL, Sybase, and proficiency in monitoring tools.. Communication and Relationship Building: ·
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with end-users, business stakeholders, and technical teams. · Ability to manage client relationships and act as a liaison between business and technology teams.
